Who we are

Kergo is a marketing, growth strategy and AI advisory consultancy operated by Gurmit Chouhan. This notice tells you what to expect us to do with your personal information. For any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at hello@kergo.uk.

What information we collect, and why

When you submit the contact form on this website, we collect the information you provide directly:

• Your name
• Your company and professional details (if provided)
• Your email address
• The details of your enquiry or business challenge

If you request a Kergo Signal report from the /signal page, we collect the email address you provide there, for the same purpose — to deliver your Signal and follow up with you.

Where we go on to work with you as a client, we may also collect information relevant to delivering our marketing consultancy, strategic advisory, and AI and digital transformation services, including information you or your organisation share with us as part of a project.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit this site, which pages they read, and roughly where visits come from. It is only ever enabled if you choose “Accept” on the banner shown on your first visit — nothing is set, and no information is sent to Google, unless and until you do.

When enabled, Google Analytics collects:

• Pages and sections of the site you visit
• Approximate location, inferred from your IP address (not your precise location)
• Device and browser type
• The site or search engine that referred you here, and any campaign tag on the link you followed

This is used only to understand visits and traffic sources — we do not use it to build advertising profiles or to identify you personally.

Google acts as a data processor for this information and may process it on servers outside the UK, including in the United States, under Google’s standard safeguards for international transfers. We retain analytics data for 14 months, after which Google deletes it automatically.

Withdraw or change your consent at any time using the Manage cookies link in the footer of any page. This clears your stored choice and shows the consent banner again immediately, so you can make a different decision.

Our lawful bases for using your information

We rely on one or more of the following lawful bases, depending on the purpose:

• Legitimate interests — responding to your enquiry, communicating with prospective and existing clients, and maintaining business records.
• Contract — where we need your information to enter into or deliver an agreed engagement.
• Consent — where we ask permission directly. This is the only basis we rely on for analytics cookies (see “Cookies and analytics” above), and also applies before sending marketing communications beyond replying to your enquiry.
• Legal obligation — where we must collect or retain information to comply with the law.

We only collect the minimum personal information necessary for these purposes, and we carefully balance our interests against your rights and freedoms. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Client projects

Where we're engaged to deliver services for a client, we may process personal information the client shares with us where this is necessary to carry out that work — for example, information about their customers, employees or stakeholders. We only access the minimum information needed, act in accordance with our contractual obligations and applicable data protection law, and apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it.

Where your information is stored

Enquiry data submitted through this site — including the contact form and Kergo Signal requests — is processed via HubSpot, which we use to manage submissions and follow-up communication. If you choose to book a call using our scheduling links, that booking is handled by Cal.com. If you accept analytics cookies, Google processes that data as described above. All three act as data processors and maintain their own privacy and security standards, which you can review on their respective websites.

How long we keep your information

• Enquiries that don't lead to a working relationship are generally kept for up to 2 years.
• Records for clients we've worked with are generally kept for up to 6 years after the relationship ends, to meet our legal and professional record-keeping obligations.
• Analytics data, only collected if you accept cookies, is kept for 14 months, set in our Google Analytics property.

If you ask us to delete your information and there is no ongoing legal or contractual reason to retain it, we will do so.

Who we share information with

We may share personal information with:

• Data processors who support our business, such as HubSpot (contact form, Kergo Signal requests and CRM), Cal.com (call scheduling) and, only with your consent, Google Analytics (site analytics)
• Professional or legal advisors
• Relevant regulatory authorities
• Organisations we are legally obliged to share information with

We will never sell your information or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access — ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct or complete inaccurate information.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your personal information.
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your personal information.
• Objection — object to our use of your personal information.
• Portability — ask us to transfer your information to you or another organisation.
• Withdraw consent — where consent is our lawful basis, withdraw it at any time. For analytics cookies specifically, use the Manage cookies link in the footer — this takes effect immediately, no need to contact us.

Some exemptions may apply depending on the lawful basis and circumstances. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@kergo.uk. We will respond without undue delay, and in any event within one month.

How to complain

If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, please contact us at hello@kergo.uk. If you remain unhappy after raising a complaint with us, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
